What is Your Deepest Gladness?
God has put unique gifts, talents and treasures inside all of us which are to be shared with the world. No gift is too small, no talent is too usual and no treasure is too inaccessible. As I've grown into a person who has connected with my deepest gladness, I can see its affect on the world around me for God's glory, purpose and love.
Wherever you are on your journey to the fullness of your life in God, may you be encouraged as you seek to uncover and share the way in whic

Art Story: Stalagmites that Formed a Sunrise
There is something mysterious and intriguing to me about caves. I feel drawn to their solitude, depth, and soothing darkness. I also feel they are indeed a metaphor for the human soul – with all its unexplored mystery, twists and turns. It really is, as Phillip Yancey describes it, “a universe all its own”. A stalagmite, as you might remember from science class, is a “mound or tapering column rising from the floor of a cave, formed of calcium salts deposited by dripping water

The 'Emerald Storyteller' Painting is Irish Inspired
In honor of St. Patrick's Day, I thought I'd share this painting and the story behind it. The colors of the painting definitely have an Irish feel to me. So when I created the poem inspired by the painting, I was transported to the coasts in Ireland. ________ After I created this painting, I took time to study, soak in and discover it. I was treated to seeing so many images which evoked the mere beginning of story-lines. I often see many stories in my paintings; maybe that's

This Painting, 'The Beautiful Gift', Celebrates Friendship
I created this painting a few years ago in celebration of the very beautiful and personal gift of genuine friendship. There is an exchange of mystic principles between two souls as history is developed from giving of oneself and receiving the other. In time, these hearts blossom from nourished intention and find themselves drenched with the joy of being known, included, and remembered.

Remembering my friend, Brain Pugh, who passed away in 2017
I can't believe it's been five years since Brian passed away. I wanted to take a moment to re-post this blog I shared about that painful time in my life as I pause to remember him with tear-filled fondness. In the middle of the night on March 1, 2017, I receive a text from my friend Stephanie, requesting me to call her in the morning. I figured something must be wrong so I called her right then. As we talked, the conversation unfolded into something I was not at all prepared

POEM: Sea-Soaked Refrain
Unbridled wind wings its way towards my yet-to-be lived life, sweeping across the forest, stirring the pine needles from their homes. As they drop to the ground, an ancient mariners' song is faintly heard past the traceable borders. Awakened into an upward gaze, I trip over the tree trunks of my heritage. Though bloody-kneed, I press on towards the origin of these faint and distant sea-soaked refrains. With each slow and deliberate step, cumbersome baggage falls off me, allow
