Poem, Flowering Shadows: Thoughts on Friendship
Among the billions of shadows
Cast upon the earth’s shifting dust,
A mere handful will cross mine.
And of those handful
A few,
A very precious few,
will intermingle with mine
In such a way
That during our fleeting existence,
As we share the same air,
We release pollen
from the garden of our hearts,
Until we find ourselves
Flowering
Inside each other's shadows.
