The Aroma of Christ

I was meditating on this scripture this morning, and the Lord gave me a new, deeper revelation/ connection/ understanding to it's meaning.

One 'pleasing aroma' to God is that of a perfect, spotless sacrifice that atones for sin. And since I have put faith in Jesus as the perfect sacrifice (which no one can offer a perfect sacrifice to God except Jesus) I was then adopted into God's family through the "doorway" of my "older brother" Jesus. And the sacrifice of His life burned up my sin. I threw my old life on the fire of his perfect sacrifice. And from that burning fire, he forged for me a new life in Him.

Now, the fragrance of Jesus sacrifice is ever upon me, emanating from me. I no longer have the stench of spiritual death on me. I have the Eternal Fragrance of Jesus Christ emanating from me up to God, our Father. And he is pleased; he enjoys breathing in my fragrance.

"But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life." 2 Corinthians 2:14-16

"without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness." Hebrews 9:22
